Pope Francis For the first time on Sunday, he appeared publicly, welcoming the crowd on a wheelchair on St. Peter’s Square in the Vatican.
It was the first time Francis appeared in public because he briefly addressed the crowd when he was discharged from the hospital on March 23. The pope was underway by double pneumonia, which left it hospitalized for five weeks.
Francis made an unprofitable visit at the end of the Mass and made a brief greeting, and all when oxygen was obtained through the nose.
“Happy Sunday to everyone,” Francis said. “Thank you very much.”

“I ask the Lord that this touch of His love can reach anyone who suffers and encourage those who care about them,” the text said.

Medical Director Dr. Sergio Alfiera told about the scenes on February 28, when an 88-year-old guy survived the cough and breathed vomiting, which made the staff clean the respiratory tract, and then put on a non-unavasable mechanical ventilation mask to help him breathe.

“For the first time, I saw tears in the eyes of some people around him. People who understood during this hospitalization period, sincerely love him as a father. We all knew that the situation had deteriorated further, and it was a risk that he would not do it,” Alfiers told Corriere Della Sera.
“We had to choose, stop and release it or make it and try it with all the possible drugs and therapies, which exposes a very high risk of damage to other organs. In the end, we were following this path,” he said.
