It is said that writers are their worst criticism – but for a person who could become the next president of Poland, nothing can be away from the truth.
King Navarokok was widely ridiculed after it turned out that a few years ago he put on disguise to praise his own book on TV.
A book written by a mysterious author entitled Tadeusz Batir recorded the life of Gangster from Communist Poland in the 1980s.
But now it has been revealed that Tadeusz Batir was a pseudonym created by Mr. Navaroki, historian and former director of the museum supported by the right of the offender and justice (PIS) in the upcoming presidential election.
In 2018, Novaroku appeared on TV as his alter-ego Tadeusz Batir, dressed in a hat and a blurry face, and excitedly praised: “This historian (King Narodarka) actually inspired me …”-says the blurry figure: “He was the first person to study the organized crime.”
Even more uncomfortable for the presidential candidate appeared in the social media, in which Mr. Novarok claimed that he met the author: “I studied organized crime for several years … So Tadeusz Batyr contacted me for some recommendations,” he said, “he thanked me for my help with an interesting book.”
The scandal led to a storm of bullying Polish social media, and users wondered whether it would be Tadeusz Batyr or Karol Nawrocki in the presidential election.
When Mr. Novarok was concerned about the influence of his election, he did not show it when he was asked to comment on his obvious split: “Literary pseudonyms at the Polish Academy said nothing” before going again to praise himself: “Poland had only one historian who had the courage to study the organized crime. Research and sources.
According to the magazine Polish Newsweek, the “delight” of Nawrocki with the underground world is well known. Local media reports that the historian is familiar with several figures associated with organized crime and biker gangs in Poland. Mr. Novarok says that any interactions are strictly professional.
Currently, Novoroki ranks second in the presidential race for the mayor of Warsaw Rafal Trzaskouski, which is located from the Liberal Civil Coalition of Prime Minister Donald Tusk. In the third place – the ultrajan -Kandadt Slavomir Menten, who recently noticed the growth of popularity. His Confederation Party stands for ultra-naughty taxes, stopping what he calls the “left ideology” and the termination of immigration.
The results of this election may also have reverbing far beyond Warsaw. Poland is a key partner in support of the West of Ukraine. Up to 95% of military assistance to the country goes through Poland, and there are about 10,000 US troops. Poland divides the borders with Ukraine and Russia and rapidly expanding its armed forces, promising to spend almost 5% of GDP on the military this year – the highest in NATO.
King Novoroki with the support of Pisa accused the “decisions of European elites” at the beginning of the war in Ukraine. Senior figures in the PIS party, who campaign to reduce taxes and energy security, have accused the EU of interfering with the election.
“This election is very important,” says political analyst Marsin Zaborowski, “(Ales Ales) Trzaskouski is the only candidate who is European, the Atlantic and supports Ukraine. It is a continuation of foreign policy. “
And this election also matters for the Poles at home. The best access to abortion, same -sex marriage and reform of the rule of law were promised by Donald Tusk when his coalition came to power in 2023. But President Andersi Duda, agreed with the IP, has veto power. That is why, so far, Mr Tusk has not been able to undergo significant reforms.
“People who voted in favor (Tusk), especially voters or women, can be very disappointed,” says Mr. Uzlovsky, “But if the Civil Coalition receives a president who supports their program, it will be a real incentive for what this government can do.”
Less than two months before the first round of voting, the Trzaskovsky Civil Coalition is leading. But when the polls narrow, King Novoroki vigorously campaign – seeks to convince voters that he, not the shadow Tadeh Batir, is their choice for the president.
