Police still looking for a man in Washington, who, as they believe, killed three of his young daughters one week ago.
The 32-year-old Travis Deker is wanted for abduction and charges of murdering first-degree for killing his daughters, nine, eight and five years, the Washington State Police Department reports.
Officials believe that Mr. Decer, which, according to them, is in the open air and may have gone to the school of survival in the mountains as part of his military training, hides in the distant part of the mountain and wooded state, which makes the search.
He said he was “a significant risk if you address.” Police did not give a possible motive.
Girls – Paitin, Evelyn and Olivia – died of obvious suffocation in remote camping earlier this week, police reports.
Their mother reported that they were missing on May 30 after Mr. Decer could not return their daughters to her after the visit. He also did not accept her phone calls.
A few days later, on June 2, police discovered the bodies of girls near the camp.
Police also found Mr Deker’s cellphone in campsite, but he was gone. His truck, which is believed to have lived, was also found nearby.
“I don’t think any motive would be acceptable. And it is obvious that this is not the decision of the sound mind,” said Chelan Sheriff Mike Morrison at a press conference on Wednesday, where Mr. Deker was asked.
Mr. Deker’s survival skills can help him avoid the authorities looking for him in the FBI, Sheriff Morrison said.
“It seems sometimes he goes out and would be out of the net, sometimes up to two and a half months,” Sheriff Morrison said after talking to Mr. Deker’s family.
Mr. Decer may have pulled the area and hidden deliveries before he allegedly kill his children, and he has “knowledge to survive over a long period of time,” the sheriff added.
“We want this peaceful solution, but we are not going to give up our efforts,” said Sheriff Morrison, asking Mr. Deker to go forward. “Let’s wrap it up and do what is suitable for your children.”
On Wednesday, the US Marshals’ Service announced a $ 20,000 award (14 780 pounds) for the information leading to Mr. Deker’s capture.
Searching has caused a wide closure of national forests popular with tourists in the area.
