For everyone who complains that Hollywood is not making any original stories these days (and justly, to be clear), now is your time to give your money where your mouth is. As far as animation studios go, Pixar has largely established itself as the trendetter and the standard that other family -friendly films have to live so far … though perhaps not quite To the extent he used to be in full swing. “Elio,” this year reviewed yours for /filmed herefeels like a return to form in many ways. Unfortunately, that failed to expose itself in the actual box office results, leading to One of the higher profile flops of 2025 so far. But soon audiences will have another chance to rectify those wrongs in the past with “Hoppers,” latest Pixar’s forthcoming original that we have had our eyes on for some time now.
Who doesn’t love anthropomorphic animals? Director/co-writer Daniel Chong and co-writer Jesse Andrews seems to understood the appeal, as their newest film uses the imaginative idea of human beings turning into animals (as it were) as the spine for what is to come. The film features a former Seren and Singer and Singer Channel Piper Curda as Mabel’s voice, our main character stumbling on advanced technology that can give human awareness to the “body” of a robot – a robot that is so happening to look like an incredible lifelike beaver. Pixar has just released our first official look at “Hoppers” and all the pictures are about praising viewers to the far -reaching default. And if any of this reminds you of “Avatar,” James Cameron, well, you will be reassured that the film is well aware of that inevitable comparison as well.
Look at the trailer above!
Now, I’ve definitely been wrong before, but everything we’ve seen about “Hoppers” (as I recently reported for /filming during Special Pixar Introduction also highlighted “Toy Story 5”) suggests that it should be another in a long line of barriers to the studio’s obstacles down to science. The animation style and creature designs look stunning and dear, the trailer does a great job of distilling what could have been a difficult narrative setup is something understandable and easy to market, and the humor displayed is incredibly up my Ale. I don’t know about you, but beaver and hungry bear both Expressing confusion as to why someone would interfere with the life cycle is exactly the kind of Dorky tone I can respect.
What attentive readers who have been paying close attention may be lost, however, is what “hoppers” are supposed to be. Of course, initial pursuers are not supposed to set all the basic storytelling beats for any particular film, and so, in that sense, this film does exactly what it needs to do. It sets up a mood, sells mass audiences on the elevator letters concept, and (hopefully) get people excited. But it is a bit strange that there is nowhere in those two minutes of photos doing the trailer even suggest On why Mabel is so desperate for hiding himself as an animal in the first place. Fortunately, we know from previous reports out of this year’s Annecy Animation Film Festival that “hoppers” focus on Mabel, a young environmentalist His local glade is full of wildlife scheduled for destruction thanks to the unhealthy mayor -d -dafod (voiced by Jon Hamm) and his plans for building a highway.
Excerpted, Pixar has recently come on fire about watering several of his films and shows – first by drawing a transgender story line from their Disney+ “Win or Lose series,” quickly followed by Similar creative interference with “Elio,” And now through what could be a threatened version of “Hoppers.” Late last year, Hollywood reporter He noted that Disney pressed the film’s creative team to “downgrade his proposed message of environmentalism,” probably over political concerns. According to the source quoted once:
“Unfortunately, when your entire film is based on the importance of environmentalism, you can’t really walk back on that. That team struggled to find out, ‘What do we even do with this note?'”
“Hoppers” come to theaters March 6, 2026.
