I never shied away from the US open call, and I never shied away from -25, winning the tournament,” said Shaupfel. “If you had to play Oakmont in the open-up US every week for 20 weeks, you would have wore yourself, and vice versa. If you had to play a course where 25 wins within 20 weeks, you also wear yourself. I think a split and a little variety for us is good.”
