Perseids meteor shower in the sky above the UK

The Perseid annual meteor shower has passed through the night sky across the UK and worldwide over the past few nights.

Bright meteors are formed when the dust particles are served from the swift-taut and burned at the Earth’s atmosphere.

Astronomers at Astro Dog, a small astronomy scarborough, captured the North York Moors National Park at the peak of August 13.

In order to maximize their chances of shooting a shiny show, they used a camera with a “very sensitive sensor and a large diaphragm”, which was directed 45 degrees from the “radiant point” – “where the metors seem to be emitted”.
