In a shocking impact, Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has suspended Usman Wahla, the director of Cricket International, after he did not act quickly in manipulating the hand controversy that exploded during the India and Pakistan Asia 2025 in Dubai on September 14.
The saga in hand has created confusion and negative headlines after India won the 2025 Copa Cup game by seven doctors against Pakistan in Dubai. The scandal, which caused a widespread critique, has now cost Usman Wahla his position.
Wahla became responsible for ensuring that everything worked smoothly, but could not take measures quickly enough to solve the problem or take specific actions against the party referee.
Your daily dose of cricket!
When the Indians left the Pakistanis ashamed to refuse to shake hands with them, the PCB decided to suspend Wahla. The PCB wants to protect its reputation and enforce accounts.

After an impressive seven Wicket victory about Pakistan in the group’s game, the Indian team shocked everyone on leaving the field without shaking hands with their opponents in Dubai. This unexpected movement led to anger, disappointment, and delayed debates at the two nations.
As soon as the game ended, the Indian captain Suryakumar Yadav ran his team directly to the locker room. Some Pakistani players remained on the pitch, waiting for the habit of hand, but this could happen. Even Pakistani players approached the Indian locker room, but did not respond.
These revelations stunned the whole world of cricket. Previously, at the start of the game, Salman Ali Agha and Suryakumar Yadav avoided a hand after the party’s referee instructed the same. After the game, the Indian captain admitted that his daring action was related to the tragic Pahalgam attack.

Earlier this year, a horror attack in Pahalgam had claimed 26 lives and left many injuries. The Indian team decided to keep in solidarity with the victims and their families jumping the blow. Suryakumar even dedicated this victory to the Indian Armed Forces that responded to the attack.
Later, the captain of Pakistan boycotted the post-party presentation ceremony, organized by an Indian host, Sanjay Manjrekar. After the controversy, many Pakistani players cried that the cricket should not be mixed with politics, while others felt that Indian players were forced to do so.
However, this gesture did not look good with Pakistan. Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) immediately recorded a complaint both to Asian Cricket Council (ACC) and the International Cricket Council (ICC), calling India’s behavior “against the spirit of the game” and “non -sports”.
The PCB went further by demanding that the referee match Andy Pycroft to be eliminated from his position, blaming him not to manage the situation correctly. Pakistan officials said that the party referee had asked both teams not to shake hands, but no instruction had been given for the end of the game.
This incident questioned equity and professionalism. This controversy in blows has become one of the largest points of conversation in the world, feeding emotions, debates and diplomatic tensions. Asia Cup 2025 now tends to social media after this episode.
