PCB asks Babar Azam to do T20i again with the Asia Cup, the T20 World Cup

Pakistan’s national team, Babar Azam, will be ready for a comeback to T20IS soon. According to reports at BBN Sports, it is learned that the first batter is included in the team for Asia Cup 2025 and the ICC T20 2026.

Pakistan’s national team, Babar Azam, was abandoned from T20I’s configuration after the 2025 ICC Champions Trophy. This was because Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) wanted to give young people opportunities as they wanted to build the team for the next T20 World Cup 2026.

Babar Azam was not named Pakistan’s squad for the T20i series against New Zealand

Babar was not appointed Pakistan’s squad for the T20i five -game series against New Zealand’s National Cricket team. He, along with Mohammad Rizwan and some other senior players on the team, were abandoned when Pakistan Cricket Board gave opportunities to players who performed well in the house cricket.

Babar and Mohammad Rizwan were abandoned from Pakistan’s squad because the PCB wanted to move from the slow focus of senior baptisms. Principal coach Aaqib Javed categorically mentioned that they want players to play with the intention.

However, the movement did not pay well, as Pakistan’s national team lost the series with the margin of 4-1. Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) also faced many criticism of his bad decision to exclude big names such as Babar Azam and, therefore, is now expected to return.

Babar Azam was last seen in action during the second hatred against New Zealand

Babar was last seen in action during the second hatred against New Zealand’s National Cricket team. The batter, however, does not have a great series to the point that he could not have a significant impact on the first two games. The right side struck fifty in the first game and then won a low score in the second game.

Babar, in recent months, has been under a massive scanner for his poor performances in the three formats. The whisk failed the entire ICC 2025 champions trophy and his poor departure was the main reason that the team failed to win a single game in the tournament.

Babar Azam is the leader of the Pakistan’s National Cricket team at T20is

Babar Azam, however, has a decent record in the T20is, but has often been criticized for his strike rate. The Premier Batter is the leader of the Pakistan National Cricket team in the format, and his experience in the Asia Cup and the T20 World Cup can be useful for the team.

Babar has marked 4223 runs in 128 games at T20IS for the Pakistan’s national team. The right side has a career strike rate under 130, which is well below the current cricket standards. It has also fallen for 3 centuries and 36 years in the format.
