The comedian took, 57 Instagram On Wednesday, August 27, with a health update from his hospital bed in Cedars-Sinai in Los Angeles.
“About two months ago, I went to make a preventative scan on my body, go to the feet, because that’s what you’re supposed to do,” Shore told his followers in a video recording. “And they found a small tumor inside my pancreas. So I’ve been dealing with it for the last few months.”
He added, “They’re going to be pulling it out. We’re going to get rid of it. It’s like a devil that is in me.”
The clip broke into photos five days later, with Shore reporting that his surgery was “successful.” Doctors “skipped (the tumor) out. He was innocent. He’s gone forever.” He thanked his medical team and said, “I’m fine. It’s time to heal.”
He continued, “My advice to anyone watching this is to have a scan, ‘because you never know what the f ***’ is inside your body. Because I didn’t know. I just made a preventative scan because I was bored.”
Shore began to cry and trust, “It has been difficult. The result of surgery – abdominal surgery – is quite hard.”
The Encino man The actor added more thoughts in his caption on the video post, telling his followers that the tumor could “have been there for 15 to 20 years. It wasn’t an emergency, but my doctor felt he was getting rid of the right thing to do.”
“Mentally, he actually made a mess with me,” continued Shore. “Knowing that there is a tumor inside me … which could grow? Shorten? Turn something worse? You don’t know.”
He said he “always been on top of my health. Going to the gym, using savages, massage, having my teeth checked, doing blood work, colonoscopies, chiropractors, etc., but I had never made a full body scan. I had no symptoms. Only I was subsequent.”
Shore said his surgery took place on August 21, and after that, “I still have my entire pancreas. I stayed one night in hospital and then three nights at home with pain medicine.”
He said: “Preventative scans are rare. Most people get a scan only when something is already wrong. People avoid them for different reasons. Perhaps they can’t afford it (a full body scan costs about $ 1,000- $ 2,000), or they may not want to know.”
Shore encouraged people to share his message in the hope that he can “help save someone’s life by encouraging them to have a preventative scan, or even approaching the doctor and talking about prevention.”
