After announces the birth of their third child, a star quarterback for the Kansas City Chiefs Patrick Mahomes share some insight into how he spent the time in hospital.
Just after the start of the new year, Patrick and Mahomes of Brittany welcomed their second daughter, Golden Raye, into the world on Sunday, January 12.
Back i Sports IllustratedPatrick revealed during a press conference that he managed to sneak in some playoff preparations as Brittany prepares for birth.
“I’m just supporting, you know. Brittany crushes it. It’s been cool to welcome another little girl into our family and see how my other kids respond to her,” said Patrick.
“It was cool that football was on TV when I was in hospital, so I got to watch a little bit,” he revealed.
Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes and his wife, Brittany Mahomes, have kept up with a theme when it comes to baby names. Patrick and Brittany are also parents to 3-year-old Sterling Skye and 2-year-old Patrick “Bronze” Lavon Mahomes III.
Patrick was able to be present for the birth of this third child after the Chiefs clinched the top seed in the AFC, giving them a bye in the first round of the playoffs.
“It was cool that we had fun,” he told reporters, according to KSBY“because you can really focus on being in the hospital and being in the moment.”

“It’s a special moment that many fathers and mothers have experienced, and you don’t forget about that stuff. So I was glad that I was able to be there and support in the best way I can.”
After the Chiefs head coach Andy Reid joked that “once you have three, four and five are easy,” Patrick, who described Reid as a “great” father, said he was “good with three right now.”
