Passengers United Airlines in the United States faced delay after the airline temporarily stopped flights to major airports about “technology problems”.
A land stop was issued for the main flights of the company’s departure airports, resulting in problems at the airports, including Chicago, Denver, Houston, San Francisco and New Jersey.
The firm said that at about 22:00 EDT on Wednesday (02:00 on Thursday), the flights were no longer grounded, but this disruption continued.
“The main problem of technology was solved, and when we expect residual delays, our team is working on the restoration of our usual operations,” the airline read.
According to 9:00 pm EDT (2:00 BST), more than 700 combined flights were delayed, Flightaware reports flight tracking site.
The flights already in the air during the stop were able to continue their directions.
Regional flights were not injured, but United has warned that they could be delayed from the congestion from the ground.
One passenger, Jessica Jeffers, said CNN that she was stuck for two hours in Denver plane, waiting to go to Newark, News.
“It was pretty rude here,” she said.
Other passengers complained about social media that they had visited the asphalt for hours when they were waiting for the news.
The US Affiliate Network BBC, CBS News, reports that the airline viewed the incident as prevention of delay, that is, this will cover certain costs that the passengers suffered.
Transport Minister Sean Duffy said he was informed by United and that the issue is “not related to the broad air traffic control system” in the US.
