Paige DeSorbo reached out to Saturday Night Live a star Marcello Hernandez following those Craig Conover deceiving rumours.
“I don’t care about any rumor that has, like, ever been said about me,” DeSorbo, 32, admitted during the Tuesday, Jan. 7 episode of her. “Giggly Squad” Podcast.. “The only thing I liked, okay, I can’t like, let this go was because it was a third party involved. People saying I cheated on Craig with Marcello.”
The Summer House The star said she “died laughing” when the rumors first started circulating online. Then, he reached out to Hernandez, 27.
“I felt strange. I was like, ‘I feel like I have to text Marcelo cause what if he sees it?’” DeSorbo said. “‘What if he has a girlfriend?'”
The Bravo star said she had only texted Hernandez one-on-one “one time” before the apology. (DeSorbo said she tried to get into the SNL afterparty when a comedian Shane Gillis was the host.)
“I just texted him. I was like, ‘Hey, just wanted to let you know, there was a rumor that I cheated on my boyfriend with you,’ and he was just like, ‘F— yes,'” DeSorbo told her and co- host Hannah Berner he laughed.
Hernandez then began sending DeSorbo screenshots of hateful messages he was getting about the rumor.
“I was like, ‘Marcello, I’m so f—ing sorry. This is such an embarrassment,’” he continued. “And no one involved was defending me, which I found interesting.”
DeSorbo announced late last month that she and Conover, 35, split after three years together.
“Craig and I have decided not to be together anymore,” she said during the Dec. 30 episode of the “Giggly Squad” podcast, sharing that there was no drama involved in their split.
Days later, Deuxmoi’s Instagram gossip account posted a blind item claiming that DeSorbo had spent New Year’s with a mystery man. Fans tried to identify the alleged husband when the podcast “Snark Bait” released an episode claiming DeSorbo was involved with a “comedian from New York City,” prompting Hernandez’s name to be thrown around.
DeSorbo shut down the speculation in various TikTok comments. “See you in court,” she joked in response to one social media user, referring to the “Giggly Squad” catchphrase she coined with Berner.
Conover, for his part, remained silent about the rift for just over a week before broke his silence on Tuesday.
“Sorry for the delay, this has all been very, very unexpected to say the least,” said the Southern Charm said a star. “(It happened) right before the holidays. I was very shocked. And it’s right. It takes two people to be in a relationship and you can’t control other people, you can only control how you react to it.”
