Package considering Legal Actions Against FA After Betting Scandal

Lucas West Ham package weighs legal actions against the football association after being authorized to timely fixation charges.

According to sources close to the 28 -year -old, his legal team is currently “taking into account all options”.

The Brazilian midfielder was originally accused in May 2024, accused of deliberately collecting yellow cards with the “undue purpose of affecting the betting market.”

However, an independent commission dismissed the four complaints in July 2025.

On Wednesday, the written judgment that explained his findings was published, raising doubts about the reason why he chose not to consult the independent betting data experts during the investigation.

Package lawyers are now reviewing the full report and explore possible responses, which could include the Demand the FA.

Research on package conduct began in August 2023, nine months before formal charges were held. The announcement of the probe at the time of its transfer proposal of 80 million pounds to Manchester City.

The Commission highlighted the financial damage caused by the case, saying that both package and West Ham would have “received substantial sums with tens of millions of pounds”, adding that “both the player and the West Ham reserve all his rights in this regard.”
