Donald Trump accused Barack Obama of “treason”, saying that he was thinking about sabotage of his first presidency, associating him with alleged interference with the Russian election.
“They tried to steal the election,” Trump said at the White House, claiming that Obama sought to undermine the 2016 victory over Hillary Clinton.
Obama’s press -secretary released a rare detort, calling Trump’s attack “a weak attempt to distract.”
Last week, Trump referred to a report by Tolsey Gabard’s National Intelligence Director who accused Obama and his national security team of a “long -standing coup against President Trump” – the results of the Democrats branded false.
Trump’s comments on Tuesday came when he encountered journalists’ questions about the late sex offender Jeffrey Epstein, who in 2019 killed himself in jail, waiting for trial.
The Presidential Administration is pressured to release additional information about a well -related convicted pedophile.
“The witch hunt you have to talk about, they caught President Obama absolutely cold,” Trump told reporters.
“Time to follow people, Obama was directly caught,” he added.
“He is guilty. It was a betrayal. It was every word that could be come up with,” Trump said.
His comments came when he conducted President Philippin Ferdinand Markas -Jr.
Obama’s press -secretary Patrick Radenbush said: “From respect for the presidency, our office usually did not get constant nonsense and misinformation coming out of this White House with a response.
“But these claims are outrageous enough to deserve it. These bizarre accusations are inappropriate and a weak attempt to distract.”
Report on Friday From the Director of the National Intelligence Director, declared letters between Obama’s assistants and claimed that they had concluded that Russia could not try to crack the election databases in the US.
A compiled copy of the president’s daily briefing, prepared by the US Security Service for Obama, a few weeks after Trump defeated Clinton, and December 8, 2016: “We estimate that Russian and criminal subjects did not affect the latest election results, conducting malicious cyber.”
But the FBI dissatisfied with the results he originally co -authored and a White House meeting with higher officials took place at the White House, the statement said.
After that, the assistant of the then -director of the national intelligence James Klapper e -mail asked the chief of intelligence to create a new assessment “at the request of the President”, which details the “tools used in Moscow and the actions that were needed to influence the 2016 elections.”
Gabard claimed that electronic letters showed evidence of a “treacherous conspiracy” to harm Trump, and it threatened to send Obama administration officials to the Ministry of Justice.
But Obama’s press -secretary said on Tuesday’s statement: “Nothing in the document issued last week, not undermined the conclusion that Russia worked to influence the 2016 presidential election, but is not successfully manipulated by votes.”
In January 2017, the US intelligence community published an assessment, given that Russia sought to harm Clinton and increase Trump in voting three months earlier.
US officials found that these efforts included Russian bots in social media and hacking democratic letters, but they eventually concluded that the impact was probably limited and did not actually change the election result.
The two -party report on the 2020 Senate Intelligence Committee also found that Russia tried to help Trump 2016.
Secretary of State Mark Rubio, who at the time was the senator, was among the Republicans who signed the report.
The first two years of Trump’s first presidency were marred by an investigation into his own Ministry of Justice, whether he was agreed with Russia to fade the result of 2016.
The Mueller’s report revealed the lack of evidence that Trump or his company had been agreed with the Kremlin and no one had ever been accused of such crimes.
In the following request a special lawyer, Darem, report, the original FBI lacking “analytical rigor” and relied on “raw, unlipped and inseparable intelligence”.
