This show is a love triangle that comes of age with a supernatural turn, focusing on Elena (Nina Dobrev), an orphan who recently lost her parents in a car accident. She contacts Stefan (Paul Wesley), who appears to be a high school student but is actually a vampire. Stefan Damon’s brother (Ian somerhalder), also a vampire, interested in Elena – especially as she is the doppelgänger of someone she loved before he was turned.
