Nou left Kryptonite Strikes: Inoue Defensive Defects threw shadow on future domain

Naoya Inoue 30-0, 27 kos) had a harder time than expected to defeat Ramon Cardenas (26-2, 14 kos) by an eighth round on Sunday night at the T-Mobile Arena de las Vegas.

Tonight, Inoue needed his offense to rescue him when Cardenas demolished him in the second round. That demolition came from a left hook. This stroke is demonstrating to be Inoue’s cryptonite. It was injured by the same trait as Luis Nerry and Nonito Donaire. Inoue leaves open for this stroke leaving his guard.

Overthrowing effort

For the second time in the last four fights, “Monster” Inoue was found on the cover after being nailed by a left hand. Cardenas landed a left that kept Naoya on the canvas until the count of seven. He was lucky that he had no longer left on the clock because Cardenas seemed to have finished his job in this round.

It is good for Inoue to bring Cardenas again to get a hasty stop in the eighth round. However, this struggle showed that Naoya does not have a chin to defeat the fighters at the elite level if he moved to a feather weight. After tonight’s scare, I doubt that Inoue will go to the 126 -pound division because they hit too much in this class of weight.

Even if you stay in Super Bantamweight to play it for sure, you will not be able to continue long before it is eliminated by one of the young contenders. The struggle tonight showed that if Naoya is heading to the pen, it will not excel in this division, unless it is even more careful than it is already for its promoters.

Dubry of Feather Weight

Inoue cannot be launched with the 126 -pound Wbo champion Rafael Espinoza and maybe not even the WBA champion, Nick Ball. They hit too much and would take advantage of Naoya’s weak. If Naoya chooses to stubbornly follow his plan to reach 126 to capture more belts, he must keep away from these sharks:

Rafael Espinoza
Bruce Carrington
Angelo Leo
Otabek Kholmatov
Brandon Figueroa
