“Well, they are the first days. I think he has great potential. Captaincy is a lot of things you have to gather,” Kirsten said in an interview with Rediff.

“He is a great thinker in the game. He is a good player himself. But there are a lot of things you have to do well. And I think the man’s direction will play, like any leader,” he added.

Shubman Gill is the main scorer in the ongoing test series between India and England. It has accumulated 607 runs in six entrances with an average of 101.16, including three centuries. Rishabh Pant has scored 425 throws of six entrances with an average of 70.83.

Kirsten, who worked closely with Mrs. Dhoni, described the former pattern as an incredible man manager. He added that Shubman Gill should follow Dhoni, saying he would improve his captaincy.

“Dhoni was an incredible man manager. If he can get this component of his leadership, I think he has all the credentials to become a great captain of India,” Kirsten added.
