North Korean leader Kim Jong Una has denied South Korea’s statements that Pyongyang had removed some of his propaganda loudspeakers along the border.
North Korea “never removed” speakers and “not ready to delete them,” said Kim Yo Chen in a statement published by the state Media KCNA on Thursday.
“We have repeatedly clarified that we do not have the will to improve relations with (South Korea),” she said, adding that this position “would be recorded in our Constitution in the future.”
South Korean military personnel said North Korea had removed some of its speakers along the border earlier – a few days after South Korea dismantled some of its own.
Kim, the deputy director of the North Korean propaganda department, said Seoul’s statement was “unreasonable and red herring.”
In addition to propaganda reports, South Korea broadcasts often exploded the songs of K-Pop across the border. While North Korea played trouble noise such as howling animals.
South Korean residents, living near the border, complained that their lives were broken, there was noise on both sides, sometimes in the night.
Pyongyang considers the propaganda broadcast of Seoul by the act of war and threatens to undermine the speakers in the past.
South Korea’s speaker was broadcast in June 2024 after a six -year pause under the impeachment of President John Suk Jola, who took a tougher position against the North.
They were restarted after Pyongyang started sending balls filled with garbage south in response to increased tension.
It seemed that this relationship was thawed under the new President Li Jay Mun, who agitated to improve inter -oreian ties.
South Korea stopped its broadcasts along the demilitarized zone shortly after Lee took the post in June, in the fact that the country’s military called the application for “restore” and “reach peace in the Korean Peninsula”.
However, the connections between the two neighbors remain difficult. Earlier this week, North Korea warned of “decisive opposition” provocation before joint military exercises between South Korea and the United States.
