The veteran spinner Ravichandran Ashwin is in advanced conversations to join the Big Bash League (BBL) and could become the first Indian Cricleter to play at the T20 Tournament. Following her withdrawal from the Indian Premier League (IPL), Ashwin is eligible to participate in the T20 leagues abroad.
Ashwin has made an important brand in the Cricket T20, including international games, national tournaments and franchise leagues. The Off-Pinner has taken 317 doctors in 333 T20 games to an average of 26.94, including four four-wicket transport, with a respectable economy rate of 7.11.

Ravichandran Ashwin in conversations with Cricket Australia to perform BBL 2025-26
According to Cricbuzz, Ravichandran Ashwin could become the first Indian cricket to play the Big Bash League in Australia. The 38 -year -old withdrew from the IPL in August to explore opportunities in T20 leagues abroad, including papers as a player and coach.
Following his retirement, Ashwin has maintained discussions with several cricket boards. CEO of Cricket Australia (CA), Todd Greenberg, has confirmed conversations about Ashwin that can join next season BBL, which begins on December 15.
Although most teams have finished their teams and budgets, Cricket Australia is exploring ways to accommodate veteran spinner. Greenberg said the presence of Ashwin would benefit the Big Bash.
“To get someone with Ashwin’s credentials to come here by the BBL will be excellent at so many levels. He is a Cricter Champion that will contribute a lot to the large amount and in our Cricket Summer,” Greenberg told Cricbuzz.
