Nikki Reed thought it is important to teach her and her husband Ian somerhalderChildren for the importance of privacy – but not because they are famous.
“It is the responsibility for parents to teach children how to be considerate, how to respect people’s privacy – and I’m starting to see schools doing that now,” said Reed, 37, Weekly USUnique clip of her forthcoming appearance on Dear Media podcast “The Skinny Confidential: Him and Her Show” Bosstick Evarts Lauryn and Michael Bosstick. “Privacy is our largest kind of currency in a world where everything lives out there. We (in) a culture of shading.”
Reed used the conversation about privacy as an “educational moment” for podcast listeners.
“I will say, the world changed a lot with the iPhone’s device,” he added. “I believe as human beings, technology has moved so fast and we have not put parameters in place to continue to consider ourselves and other people as human beings.”
This is something she and Somerhalder, 46 taught their two children: Bodhi’s 7 -year -old girl and her 2 -year -old brother, whose name has not been revealed.
“My aim and mission is not only sitting around and feeling pity or complaining about what the result of that might be but taking it as a moment for education,” the actress continued. “We have to talk to our children and learn how to be aware of other people.”
He added, “I am not talking about celebrities. I speak generally.”
Reed explained that when she and her husband were in high school and attended a party, they had never “worried about being filmed and put on social media.” This is not, of course, true in the current world.
Overall, Reed noted that this was a “parenting failure” that should be nurtured in children as they grow up.

Although their love story began in Hollywood, Reed and Somerhalder, who married in April 2015, move to a farm out of Los Angeles After becoming parents to focus on raising their children.
“Currently raising babies is the largest an important thing for me”Said Reed during an interview in January 2024 with NewbeautyNoting that her life was “so busy and so amazing” at the time.
“Life has gone incredibly busy, and it doesn’t look like it is slowing down any time soon,” he added, noting that it feels most in peace of nature and thriving on the farm. “I feel like every time I say, ‘This is a slowing year,’ things look up!”
