“They may just hate people. I don’t know, but I’m pretty sure they definitely hate pregnant women,” continued, while Joy claimed that their experience with the airline was the “worst moment” of her pregnancy.

Joy noted that she and Viall arrived at the airport early to add their puppy back to Los Angeles after she appeared as a special guest on a “Call Daddy Her” tour in Toronto. Although it is alleged that the couple was ready for taking them, the woman who was working behind the counter that day noted that they would not be allowed on the flight because they did not check in 90 minutes before they left.

Joy and Viall were referred to the airline’s website, and it is alleged that “likely” passengers could lose their flight if they had not checked in 90 minutes before. Later, the couple, who tied the knot in 2024, learned that their original flight had been delayed. They eventually got home, waiting five hours at the airport.

“Not everyone who works for Air Canada is actively wanting to help you,” Viall claimed. “They’re not. They’re coming off on not helping you.”

Air Canada responded to the situation in a statement to Weekly US at the time.

“To ensure that bags are loaded with passengers on board in time for each flight, as well as ensuring that they have time to clear safety and, if necessary, habits, like all airline we have cutting times for passengers,” read their statement. “Our cut off times are posted on our website and we communicate them in our mobile app once a customer has checked in and advises them what the times are. If a customer hasn’t checked in on minus-5 hours before their use, they also receive a login reminder re-declaring the cut-off.”

We’re going to have a lecture of some sort and obviously we’re going to be right,” added Viall, noting that they were told they were going back to the United States. “He looked (the agent) at me and it was like, ‘Are you still going to go to your hotel?’ I’m like, ‘I’m not leaving my wife.’ “

He continued, “Natalie is crying and I seem calm but I’m radiating with anxiety. I say to myself, ‘You two days on the post f ** King. Time to be a husband. This is your time to step up and stay calm. Everything is going to be fine.’” ”

The family was ordered on “The Next Flight Out,” but faced delays from the six -hour aircraft and the flight was canceled due to the issue of maintenance. Delta Airlines puts the family up in a local hotel for one night.

“It could have been a lot worse (a) we had one night,” said Viall.

May 2025

On the May 2025 chapter of the “The Viall Files” podcast, Joy shared that the couple had just entered a business class on a flight from Los Angeles when a woman saw Texting for their daughter. Joy noted that River was in a “talkative” mood but not crying.

“So the woman in front of me, I thought, honestly, was going to be pretty nice because we made an eye contact as we were on board,” said Joy. “So I read on her phone, the first thing I see is, ’18 -Month-age in the business class. ‘And I’m like,’ Oh, here we go. ‘ “

Joy explained that the woman started texting to her “friends” that “a young couple” behind her in the business class with their “child around (1) age screaming a storm.” The text is alleged to have claimed that Viall and Joy are the “kind of people who think it’s cute” and said “They need to learn how to calm their child down … the poor woman beside me is trying to work.”

Joy noted that the woman spelled “their” in her text wrong, so she mentioned the Typo when facing the traveler.

“As she finished her text, I leaned up and taped her on the shoulder, and I said, ‘They are theirs. Their child, not there,” said Joy, who Viall noted that he had “no idea that this was happening” but claimed he heard the women discuss the spelling error. When the woman asked if she was looking at her screen, Joy replied, “Do you text for my child?”

“She kind of, like, huffs and puffs and turns, and then she brings her phone, the same level, the same brightness, the same text size, and starts to go, ‘she faced me for a spelling error. She reads my text from behind me. Lol. I respect it,'” Joy claimed.

One day after sharing the story on “The Viall Files”, the pair responded to the fan’s response – with Joy claiming that people were “more crazy I want to read the text than for the woman talking s *** on my child.”

Viall explained, “Having a child makes you more empathic in all aspects of life. The way you see other parents on flight, and just help you. When I see a mother with a child coming on a plane, I’m waiting for a chance to help her with her bag. I don’t want to be intrusive … but yes, it’s hard.”
