The former National West Indian Cricket team, Batsman Nicholas Polan, has been officially designated as the new Captain of the Trinbago Knight Riders (TKR) for CPL 2025.
Nicholas Polan has replaced the legendary Kieron Pollard as a patron, as he has been in charge of Trinbago Knight Riders (TKR) since 2019.

In June 2025, Nicholas Polan announced a shock of shock from the international cricket, ending as a more player with T20IS for the National Cricket team of the Antilles.

In a video shared by TKR, Nicholas Polan said they have an absolutely hunger and would like to put their hands on the trophy.
“ We return, we are hungry, we want to win the title and, most importantly, we want to do it for our fans in Trinitat and Tobago and all the world.Proining Trinidad and Tobago in the first place is an honor and a privilege. Getting the captain’s opportunity this year is something that I want to try the best and, obviously, it has gone through Bravo for Polly and then to me, ” said Nicholas Poatan.
“Everything that has happened to me I have this opportunity now, to make decisions about the Cricket field, if they try to affect the game for us as much as possible, we hope they will be in favor.”

Nicholas Polan said to direct players like Kieron Pollard and Sunil Narine would be a great honor for him and urged fans to support next to him. He made:
“So it is a nice feeling because we talk about Cricket every day, play Cricket similarly and hope that this year is ours and that we can make it a really memorable one for us.”
“For me the most satisfying is that these guys continue to play and only to drive them in the field, it means a lot to me.
It is an experience that I know I will not forget and I just want to make the best foot and I hope everything goes in our favor. This year it will be special for us, leave and rest, regardless of, we will join the CPL to Carnival. “

Dwayne Bravo recently assumed the main coach of Trinbago Knight Riders (TKR), and praised Kieron Pollard to move away from leadership role at the right time and pass the baton to Nicholas Polan. Said:
“It is important as a leader to always plan for the future. Polly and I and I share the same values in life in different ways and the transition now happens in Nicky P that is someone who has been playing and learning so much Cricket and we as players and you know, I think it is the right choice at the right time.”
In the meantime, Kieron Pollard said it was an easy decision for him because with Dwayne Bravo coming on board, a new face that leads the side is excellent. Said:
“So for me it was a kind of easy decision, you know that, after last year, thinking -with Bravo on board, you know, a new main coach and I just think that it was good at this time that if we can get a new captain to continue this transition period.”
“And he understands how we want to play Cricket, the winning culture we want to create, again a homemade boy and, again, he shares a lot of respect with many players from around the world, not only in Trinidad and Tobago and Caribbean. So I think it was very, very easy and it is something that really prepared him and giving -the opportunity to direct the Knight Riders.”

CPL 2025 will begin on August 15, with St Kitts and Nevis Patriots assuming old and bearded falcons, and Knight Trinbago pilots will begin their campaign against St Kitts & Nevis Patriots on August 17.
