Neymar has diminished fitness’s concerns after leaving Brazil’s squad for this week’s World Cup rankings, contradicting the explanation of main coach Carlo Ancelotti.
Ancelotti had suggested that a “minor injury” was behind the forward omission, emphasizing the need for players to be in maximum.
But after completing 90 minutes in the 0-0 draw of Santos with Fluminense on Sunday, Neymar insisted that the decision was purely technical.
“It was a swelling in my adductor, a little discomfort, but nothing serious, so much that I played today,” said Neymar.
“I was out for technical reasons, it has nothing to do with my fitness. It’s the coach’s opinion and I respect it.”
The 32 -year -old young man returned to the Boyood Santos club at the beginning of the year after a spell in Saudi Arabia with Hilal, has not participated in Brazil since 2023.
Brazil faced Chile on Wednesday before traveling to Bolivia next week, with Ancesti’s side of Ancembol’s classification, level of points with Ecuador and chasing Argentine leaders.
Ancelotti has called a 25 -man forward line that includes Stephen, Gabriel Martinelli, João Pedro, Raphinha, Richarlison and Matheus Cunha.
