Newcastle is welcome to Brighton in St James Park for the second time this season, as they collide for a place in the quarterfinals of the FA CUP.
The gulls have already succeeded once in the northeast this season, surpassing the Magpies 1-0 in October courtesy of a goal by Danny Welbeck.
But Eddie Howe is determined to put an end to the infinite drought of the Newcastle Trophy, after making several finals and not getting his team on the line.
Much of the talk around this game has been about whether Alexander Isak will be in shape to lead the line, and Howe admitted that Newcastle had a much better opportunity against Brighton with him available.
He said, “I think with Alex, it is quite clear to me, if he is in any game that leads to the EFL Cup final, he will play and we will have to have this mentality with all our players.
“You can’t save the players, as they will lose their pace. The best thing a player remains in good shape and staying in shape is to play -this is what we will try to do with all our players.”
Eddie Howe at the FA CUP:
“It’s a huge competition. We know the importance of this, we do not take it lightly. This will be a hard game, Brighton has a great shape, this should be a really exciting cup tie. Its distance has been very strong, it will be a test for us, but one of and … pic.twitter.com/xpkz9y32zc

“I think, of course, when it does not play, the team has a totally different look. It is still a team that can be successful, but they will have to do it differently.
“Alex has outstanding qualities. We have shaped our game to its qualities. It is a prominent talent and has skills and skills and a way of playing that improves us in my opinion and this is not a discredit for anyone we have. “
Meanwhile, Brighton’s head, Fabian Hurzeler, is on a mission of proudly making club fans, although he stopped promoting a title.
He added: “First, this is my job. I always try to give it all for the club and, of course, I always want the club to be more successful than we can.
“This is my job, along with staff and players, and so we try.
“We promise to everyone who will try to give it all on the pitch and next to the pitch to make them proud, but we cannot promise to win a title.
“This is what we work and what we try to do in our daily behavior, and then we will see what will come in the future.”
Eddie Howe in Team-NEWS:
“Callum is fine, he gave him a cut, but it will be fine. Sven and Joe have a chance today is a great day for them. Today we will see how far they are, whether they train with the team for the first time or not. Knowing the two players will be … pic.twitter.com/KDVCXSHICG

There is good news for Newcastle fans, as Howe admitted Isak, Sven Botman and Joelinton who could be presented on Sunday.
During the pre -match press conference, he said, “I think Callum Wilson is fine. He took a cut in his eyes, but nothing more than that. Cross -fingers are fine.”
“They (Botman and Joelinton) have a chance (to play Sunday). Today is a great day for them. We will see what they are and if they train with the team for the first time or not. Knowing the two players will be very interested in participating.
“We’ll see today. I haven’t seen him (Isak) from the game. We will see what it is today. We do not think it is a long -term problem. There was no risk on Wednesday and there can be no stage of the season.
“There is always a risk with any player, but we would not risk their long -term form. We will see what it is today and if it is fit, it will play.”
Brighton has not been so lucky. They will not be without Joel Veltman, Jason Steele, Ferdi Kadioglu, James Milner and Igor Julio.
Captain Lewis Dunk was expecting to return against Newcastle, but Hurzeler confirmed that the game on Sunday will be too early.
He said, “So far, there is no other change. Hopefully it will stay like this. Of course, we hope that our pattern (Dunk) will return, but I think the Sunday game will be a little too soon.”

It really is anyone’s game in Tyneside this weekend.
Newcastle has shown flash of the brightness that won a place in the Champions League two seasons ago, but the Magpies have also been vulnerable.
Howe’s side really worked against Liverpool in the middle week, especially without Isak.
In the meantime, the seagulls finally find a form under Hurzeler and will be supported to double their opponents in St James Park.
A draw and, possibly, an additional time and penalties could be in the cards, but we are supporting the hosts to simply advance the side of the southern coast.
Prediction: Newcastle 3-2 Brighton
