Newcastle found a way to win by Howe

Newcastle’s manager, Eddie Howe, praised his side for not being distracted by the next final of the League Cup in Wembley to get a so necessary Premier League victory in West Ham.

Captain Bruno Guimaraes scored the only goal of the game to lift the Magpies to the sixth place on the table.

They are now facing Liverpool in Wembley Sunday for the Chaco to raise a DMOESTIC trophy for the first time in 70 years.

Howe said, “This was one of our best victories of the season, not in terms of performance but of desire and heart.

“We have shown all the great ingredients you need to be a successful team. You need to win when the game is tight and find a way to overcome the line. We defended ourselves very well after the first three minutes, which were a little scary. We deserved victory.

“That is why it was such a good victory for me, it would be easy for players to be distracted, but they were present. Now we will focus fully on Liverpool. We will take it into account.

“I heard that we needed a victory to enter the final with a real boost and elevator.”

West Ham’s defeat leaves them in 16th place, with his head Graham Potter discontent with the only goal of the game.

He said, “I thought it was a performance committed to us.

“The game was ready. We are disappointed with the goal, it seems that two hands in the back of our center-back.

“We had some moments, not enough to win it, but we were committed enough to get enough of the game.

“We have tried to address the foundation and give us a little stability. As I said, the effort, the application and the desire to go back and suffer for each other.

“At the back of two wins, it is not built in a day. We have to move step by step. You have to continue to move -.”
