Domithila Cattete are rivers of fate
NetflixWe love when a show takes characters from different backgrounds and puts them on a collision course – it’s a formula for interesting conversations, surprising turns and for every character to see things from someone else’s perspective they would never get. That’s exactly what Rivers of fate do so well. The story follows the very different three characters trips along the Amazon River, and their narratives are woven together in surprising and attractive ways. The show balances gravel and humanity, ensuring that all character feels multi -dimensional rather than a simple archetype.
The first character we meet is Janalice (Domithila Cattete), a teenage girl who is chopped out of her home by her religious parents after her boyfriend shared a clarified sexual video from her. Soon, she is winding down on the street and falling into a sex trading ring.
Lucas Galvino in the rivers of fate
NetflixPreá (Lucas Galvino) is a reluctant gang -river -river leader who carries cargo along the Amazon. His gang is the reason for capturing Janalice, but he takes a affection for the girl and decides to release her for free.
The third main character is Mariangel (Marleyda soto), a former revolutionary whose son and husband were murdered by a gang. She not only looks for revenge, she also wants to release other victims.
These characters act as the metaphorical “rivers” of the story, and you will immediately want to learn where and how they meet.

NetflixThe northern Brazilian location is one that we have not often seen on screen, and it is uncommon to see the narrative of a “river adventure” that is as earthy and intense as this one. Rivers of fate Works because it feels like such a specific story, one that could happen in this place with these characters alone.
Amazon’s blue -green and jungle images add beauty and threat, giving an atmosphere to the story that feels raw and unpredictable. By rooting the play in a stunning and dangerous setting, the show makes every choice the characters face feel more urgent.
