If you have ever heard the words “American Team” during Nfl Broadcast, then there is no question which team he was referring to.

The Dallas Cowboys won that nickname in the ’70s in part by often appearing on television games nationally.

Netflix’s new documentary, American team: The Gambler and its CowboysIt does not look completely comprehensive back on the team’s history. But it chronicles the Cowboys’ latest Super Bowl runs while also showing why the team remains popular decades later.

To really appreciate this documentary series, it helps if you are a big football fan. Or even more specifically, Cowboys fan. The ’90s’ cowboys were the highlight of the franchise, and even viewers who are not supporters of the team should appreciate the archival photos. This is the team that won backup championships in the ’90s before dismissing its coach, and then went on to win a third championship a few years later.

These were the days of the glory of the cowboys, even more so than the team’s run in the ’70s. And he says the cowboys of the last three decades have been nowhere close to this good.
