Netflix is known to cancel plenty of shows, but the streaming platform may bring one of its best series back for a new season.

Putting David Fincher in the care of a TV series about studying the thoughts of serial killers seems like a natural fit, so it was no surprise when Mindhunter came to light as one of the best series Netflix had to offer. However, after season two for the first time on the platform in 2019, fans have been left hanging, wondering when Mindhunter Season 3 could become a reality. The possibility is closer than we would think.
Mindhunter The Star Holt McCallany recently interviewed where he teases the possibility of the show returns. McCallany told CBM: “So look, you know, I met David Fincher In his office a few months ago, he told me that there was a chance that he could come back like three two -hour films, but I think it’s just a chance. I know there are writers who work, but you know, David has to be happy with scripts. “
How likely is this to happen? McCallany expanded, “So I think, in terms of dates and logistics, that it could all be worked out, but it has to do, you know, with David really having the time and trend and being happy, you know, with the material. And, you know, that’s a big question mark.”
The two seasons of Mindhunter have well over 90% onwards Rotten tomatoes. It is difficult to argue against making more seasons when the results are good.
Netflix And David Fincher has had a long and successful relationship. Netflix recently released chapters from the EMMan animated anthology that won the Love, death, and robotsThe Fincher executive produces. Another Recent success was their film collaboration, WantDid Fincher netted his third Oscar Best Director nomination.
If Netflix wants to keep David Fincher’s train going, they will probably be happy to distribute whatever project he wants to work on next. So if Fincher is ready for Mindhunter Season 3, expect Netflix to support it, even if it has been six years.
For what is worth, other series stars have also expressed their interest in returning and completing the story. Jonathan Groff, Holt McCallany, and Anna Torv were all likely to be back for more and to study some of the most famous serial killers of our time.
