Over a decade ago Hasbro and Blumhouse joined for a film based on the Ouija Board game. It was very popular in 2014, and at Prequel, Ouija: Bad originHe followed two years later.
Both of those movies are on right now Netflixbut Ouija: Bad origin is the one you really need to see.
Unlike his predecessor, The origin of evil is a horror film that goes beyond their board game origin, and deserves to find a larger audience.
That is why Watch with us have made three reasons to watch Ouija: Bad origin before he left Netflix on August 15.

The most surprising thing perhaps Ouija: Bad origin is how little the film needs it. The developing story in this film expands on the events that are teased by the first Ouija. However, the prequel is much more enjoyable if you haven’t seen the original film at all. If you don’t know the troubled bends, then some of them are actually surprising.
Also put the film in 1967 The origin of evil An appealing throw style. Commitment to the fashion and design of that age went far towards fulfilling that look. But the real reason people go to horror films is to experience the terror. The origin of evilScary moments are not as intense as some of the other modern horror flicks, but it works astonishingly as an adaptation of a popular board game.

Mike Flanagan Cowrote and direct Ouija: Bad originAnd he deserves most of the credit for this upgrade over the original. Netflix fans may remember that Flanagan was the showwrunner for him too Midnight Mass. Terror a hill house and The fall of the usher’s house. The origin of evil Predicting all of those shows, but Flanagan knows the genre well, and his expertise was well used.
The primary cast also deserves praise, especially Elizabeth Reaser As a fake medium, Alice Zander, with Annalize basso and Lulu Wilson Like her daughters, Lina and Doris. At the start of the film, Alice and her daughters rely on fraud to deceive their hopeless clients who want to talk to their deceased loved ones. When Doris displays a natural gift for channeling ghosts with an Ouija board, Alice treats it as the best thing that has ever happened to the family.

Wilson goes from dear to threat with amazing speed. Henry Thomas He also has a very low key performance like Father Tom Hogan, Headteacher of the Sisters School and a possible love interest for Alice. The lunch scene between Father Tom and Alice is one of the highlights of the film, and does not need ghosts. Only two former performers show some submissive chemistry together.

As noted above, The origin of evil works best when you don’t know how Zander’s family factor to the first Ouija Film. Otherwise, the disclosures late in this movie are not really surprising. And yet as an independent experience, The origin of evil Bucks the horror tradition of letting his main characters emerge unharmed from what they have been through.
Ouija’s board comes to play in some parts of the film, but it is funny that Zander’s family does not realize that they have broken all three rules for playing the game until it is far too late. It may not be the best selling point for a Hasbro board game, but this is probably the best film anyone will ever make based on that franchise.
