Have you ever seen Michael Keaton give poor performance? Well, definitely you won’t see that here. Keaton is the glue that holds White noise Together, and the most prominent member for the cast by far. Through his ability to emote, Keaton makes Jonathan mourn for his wife to feel credible and encouraging.
The script also calls on Keaton to portray Jonathan’s descent convincingly to obsess with contacting his wife from beyond the grave. It’s not a natural stimulus, but Keaton has a way to make it seem real enough for someone as desperate as Jonathan.

The “science” behind EVP as a spiritual medium is suspicious at best, and the film presents Raymond Price (Ian mcneice) As the Kook/Specialist in the Maes. What is interesting about Raymond is that he is not Charlatan, and does not directly benefit from trying to reconnect the living with their late loved ones.
One of the unexpected turns in the film is that Jonathan slowly slowed to Raymond by transferring from a skeptic to a believer. Essentially, he takes over Raymond’s case and makes him own. Jonathan actually does some heroic things like this, but he also neglects his son, Mike (Mike is poor (Nicholas Elia). Jonathan is a tragic figure in this story, and never realizes the full amount of the danger in which he has set himself by stretching out blind to the spirit world.

This is a ghost story, but most of the supernatural events are either on the recordings made by Jonathan and Raymond or are conveyed through the shady demons who are happening again throughout the film. Some of White noiseBest moments are when the influence of the demons is directly felt, including the very tasteless messages they leave Jonathan.
However, it is understandable why some viewers may have felt that they were disappointed by the Demons’ last scene in the film. It comes off as a poorly and not conceived sequence. Regardless, the film’s finality becomes a full circle for Jonathan. And there’s plenty to enjoy in White noise that we can forgive some of his late misdeeds.
