Before joining NBC in 2021, Llamas spent seven years with ABC News as Chief Network and Sunday Anchor National Affairs Correspondent ABC World News tonight. It is a full cycle moment for the news veteran, whose first professional role in the industry at NBC became an overnight production assistant and campaign campaigning.
For Holt, it will remain in NBC in full -time function, keeping to a dayline, where it has been a chief anchor since 2011.
On call with NBC Night News Staffers, Holt called the anchor role “not only one of the great jobs, but it is great staff (Llamas) inheriting.”
