At the beginning of her career, Nancy Travis Feeling “better known” for jobs that went away than those who scored.
“I came so close to many jobs to lose in the 11th hour,” Travis, 63, remembered In the newest issue of Weekly US for her early acting days. “There were always reasons and excuses – and I always tried not to let him define me in any way. I knew that rejection came with the territory and I always tended to look at her as the person who rejected me (was) their lack of clarity or opinion rather than mine.”

“I don’t think I’ve ever played a part like this,” he told Us for her character, who is trying to stay on his head in a small town. “I eat it up. I’ve had a career of being the woman who is essentially an eye candy to the man. This is a woman on a mission.”

Eventually, the ads became a “trend” for his time. “They really wanted real people as they looked in their lives,” shared Travis. “For someone like me with this crazy curly hair that is unprofitable, it was a door that opened for me.”

I really love nature, so anytime I get to be in, I take advantage of that.”
