Secretary of State Mark Rubio and billionaire machinery Elon Musk conducted a controversial exchange with Polish Foreign Minister Radoslav Sikorski, in the X -Musk Starlink satellite system in Ukraine on Sunday.
In response to a Moscow message, mentioning the shutdown of the system, Sikorski meant that any threats to close Starlink would search for other suppliers.
Rubio quickly rejected the claims that Musk would close the system and urged Sikorsky to be grateful.
The trio went back and forth in messaging on X, which ended as Musk called the Sikorsk “little man”.
The Starlink system is part of the SpaceX Mission to provide high -speed Internet for remote and undervalued areas – for example, with war zones – worldwide.
Sunday exchange began when Musk published that Starlink was “the basis of the Ukrainian army”.
“The whole line of the front would collapse if I turned it off,” he wrote.
Sikorski then answered the post of Musk, saying that Poland paid for his service.
“Starts for Ukraine are paid for by the Ministry of Polish Digiting about $ 50 million a year,” Sikorski writes. “The ethics threatening the victim of aggression, if SpaceX is an unreliable supplier, we will be forced to look for other suppliers.”
Sikorski’s message made Rubio talking, writing that the Polish Foreign Minister “just composes”.
“Nobody did threatening to cut Ukraine from Starlink,” Rubio wrote.
“And say, thank you, because without Starlink Ukraine would have lost this war for a long time, and the Russians would be on the border with Poland,” he added.
Later, Musk responded to Sikorski post, calling him a “little man”.
“Be quiet, small. You pay a tiny share. And there is no replacement Starlink,” Musk wrote.
Starlink terminals are key for Ukraine’s army operations and have been used since the beginning of the Russian invasion in February 2022.
There are tens of thousands of terminals in the country, including up to 500, purchased by the US Department of Defense in June 2023.
