Murder of Mexican Teakker Valery Marquez raises questions

When the 23-year-old Mexican influence was shot dead during the broadcast on the score, the rumors began to rotate. It was a cartel? Or another tragic example of violence against women?

On Tuesday, Valery Marquez was shot dead in Blossom The Beauty Lounge, a beauty salon in the burned, town in the Central Jalisz.

The State Prosecutor’s Office stated that it was investigating the crime as a feminine, which means that the crime was motivated by the fact that the victim was a woman.

Mexico President Claudia Sheinbaum said he was investigating: “We are working to catch responsible and find out why it happened.”

But the fact that the crime happened in Jaliszka, a state where the Cartel Jalisz Nueva Generation (CJng) was afraid that the cartel could somehow participate.

Ms. Marquez was a Mexican model that began to call herself a name in 2021 after winning Miss Rostra (Miss Face).

Shortly thereafter, she began creating content on social media. She would share the advice on makeup and personal hygiene procedure, tell about fashion and show her journeys.

Its photos on private planes and yachts can be seen on her Instagram account, which during her death was more than 223,000 followers.

Ms. Marquez also had another 100,000 followers on Tiktok.

Although it is unclear what happened, during her latest broadcast, Ms. Marquez said she was waiting for the courier she knew to give the gift.

She added that she was a little worried because her friend did not see the courier’s face when he arrived.

“Why didn’t he just give up him (a gift)? They were going to pick me up (steal me) or what?” She thought aloud her followers.

Holding the pink stuffed animal, Ms. Marque looked away from the camera and immediately grabbed her in the chest and belly before falling apart.

Then another woman took the phone and finished live.

According to the state prosecutor, the police arrived at the scene at about 6:30 pm local time (12.30 GMT) and confirmed Ms. Marquez’s death.

Authorities say at least two people on motorcycles arrived in the salon, and one of them asked the sacrifice if she was Valeria. When she replied “yes”, he pulled the gun and fired at least twice before running away.

Investigators say they check the CCTV shots and track Ms. Marquez’s social media concerning the hints of who can be attackers.

But the location of the salon in the wealthy area Zapotana in Guadalajari raised questions about the motive of the crime. While having the private security and pleasure of her streets, the stagnant is a safe area, in fact it is one of the most violent municipalities in the fir. In fact, the pictures regularly take place in the luxury shopping centers of the district.

More than half of the real estate and commercial development in the area is connected with the money laundering, the US Department of Justice reports.

Jalisk ranks sixth among 32 Mexico states, including Mexico Corps, from 906 killings registered since the beginning of President Claudia Sheinbaum’s term in October 2024, reports Consulting Consulting Tresearch.

It is also one of the Mexican states most affected by the cartel. It was here, 50 kilometers from Zapotan, in March the training center of the cartel was found, and it was here that 15,000 people disappeared since 2018.

On the same day that Marquez was killed, a former congressman named Luis Armand Cordoba Diaz was killed only two kilometers, the newspaper reports Reform.

According to Jalisz, up to 90% of crimes are never reported or studied. The State Prosecutor’s Office has long been accused of links to the cartels she denies.

The prosecutor’s office said they still did not suspect that Ms. Marquez’s murder was ordered or carried out by any organized criminal groups operating in the area.

Instead, the office suggested that the killer might have been motivated to kill her from her gender.

Mexican media had previously published reports in which Ms. Marquez accused her former partner when something happened to her.

The mayor was burned by Juan Jose France that he did not record Ms. Marquez in his office asking the authorities from the threats against her, adding that “Theimide is the worst,” AFP news agency reports.

“In response to the claims that indicate the alleged criminals of the Femicide in Zapopan, we will clarify that there is no direct charges against any person in the investigation statement,” Prosecutor Jalisk said.

“All statements and prompts, including videos and reports in social media, are analyzed. The investigation is conducted in accordance with the protocol of the Femicides, with the gender perspective, without revitmation and in accordance with the principles of legality, impartiality and respect for human rights,” he added.

Gender violence is a serious problem in Mexico, a country that ranks fourth in Latin America and the Caribbean on the pace of physicide, for Paraguay, Uruguay and Bolivia.

According to the latest data from the United Nations Economic Commission on Latin America and the Caribbean (ECLAC), in 2023 there were 1.3 deaths in Mexico for every 100,000 women in Mexico, Reuters reports.

Less than 48 hours before the murder of Ms. Marquez, Yesenia Lara GutiĆ©rrez, Mary’s candidate in Maren (ruling party) in the city of Text, Vercrucus, was killed while participating in a political motorcade. As in the case of influence, the murder of the politician was recorded by cameras because the event was carried out on Facebook.
