The Pakistan Super League (PSL) has found itself at the center of a storm, with Multan Sultans owner Ali Tareen making explosive claims about the Pakistan Cricket Board’s (PCB) lack of commitment to the league. Sending shockwaves through the cricketing world, Ali Tareen claimed that the PCB is not fully supporting the PSL, treating it more as a burden than an asset.
Despite reaping financial benefits from the Pakistan Super League, the Pakistan Cricket Board sees its own domestic franchise league as a franchise-controlled entity rather than a shared cricket enterprise, according to Multan Sultans owner Ali Tareen. Tareen pointed out that there are snakes all over the PSL.
The Multan Sultans owner further claimed that internal politics and ego clashes within the PCB are hampering the growth of the PSL. It further revealed that decision-making is influenced by personal agendas rather than merit. He has openly stated that the PCB doesn’t really care about the PSL, leaving everything to the ‘snakes’.
Multan Sultans owner Ali Tareen said on Relukattay’s YouTube channel, “PCB has the least control, although they have full control, but the least control they have is over the PSL. There are franchises and others involved .They are fed up with this. They want us to do what we want. And all this is about the national leagues, and the people are working on the PCB throughout. the year”.
Tareen further noted, “PSL is for one month in a year, so they don’t care about PSL. PCB doesn’t think PSL is ours. They think they are franchises. They get TV time. They get profit. We don’t get any profit. So they have a monetary profit. If you bring people with merit. They will think logically the PSL. They are making decisions.”
Ali Tareen said, “PCB doesn’t care about PSL, they don’t want to feel that this is ours. There are snakes sitting in the entire PSL management making decisions.”

Meanwhile, the Multan Sultans owner also surprisingly blamed the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) for ruining Ihsanullah’s career. Ali Tareen claimed that Ihsanullah’s surgery was done by a friend of one of the PCB board officials, leaving many scars that can never be removed.
Ihsanullah suffered an elbow injury during a white-ball series against New Zealand in April 2023. The right-arm fast bowler, also known as the Matta Express, is one of Pakistan’s fastest bowlers, but still recovering from surgery. and there is still no update on his fitness and reappearance.

Ali Tareen has revealed a heartbreaking update on Ihsanullah, saying the Multan Sultans pacer’s career as a 150km/h bowler is over due to complications from an earlier surgery. Despite expert intervention, the damage is irreparable, leaving the bowler unable to fully extend his arm.
Tareen pointed fingers at the PCB, blaming this tragic outcome on their handling of the Ihsanullah situation. He signed off saying, “I’m very sad for Ihsanullah. He recently met with the expert. And he said, ‘I can do the surgery, but whatever I do, there’s a lot of his previous surgery.’
“No matter what I do. and he will never be able to bowl the same way because his arm is not straight’. Thanks to PCB, Ihsanullah’s arm will never become perfectly straight. So it is very unfortunate. It is a story very unfortunate but that’s what Ihasanullah can’t be a 150km/h player again.
