Mother Joshlin Smith, Kelly, put in jail for kidnapping and selling her in South Africa

The South African woman, convicted of abduction and trading her six -year -old daughter, was sentenced to life imprisonment, as well as two accomplices.

Conditions in Kelly missile prison, her boyfriend Jacque Apalis and their friend Stephen van Rin came more than a year after Joshlin Smith had gone mysteriously near her home in Soldier Bay, near Kape Town.

Despite the widely advertised search for a girl who disappeared in February 2024, she has not yet been found.

Judge Nathan Erasmus said he “did not pull the difference” between the trio when the sentence was transferred.

“You are sentenced to life imprisonment on charges of trafficking in human beings. On charges of abduction, you are sentenced to 10 years in prison,” he said with a loud applause in the courtroom.

Smith and her accomplices did not show emotions because their sentences were read.

Emotions were high ahead of the sentence, with angry community members stated that the trio should receive “a harsh sentence because they deserve it”.
