Most Republicans supported US President Donald Trump and Vice President JD Vance, after their public office with the President of the Ukrainian Board Zelensky.
Senator Lindsey Graham suggested that Zelensky retired, adding that the quarrel on Friday had exceeded the US military support in Kiev, but another republican senator accused Trump of “accepting Putin.”
Zelensky was asked to leave the White House without signing from the United States, which would jointly develop Ukraine’s valuable minerals.
On Saturday, Zelensky enjoyed the reception of a warmer reception of Prime Minister Keira Starmer for Downing Rate, a day ahead of the meeting with King Charles.
The Ukrainian leader also made a request in the United States to “stand more firmly” with Kiev, adding that he was ready to sign minerals with Trump, but wished to determine security guarantees.
Trump suggested that Ukraine should recognize Russia to end its invasion and opened peace talks between Washington and Moscow.
The US president also warned Russia that he would impose high tariffs and further sanctions if President Vladimir Putin did not end the “ridiculous” war.
Before leaving Florida after a clash of the Oval office with Zelensky, Trump told reporters that the Ukrainian leader had “overcame his hand”.
“Either we are going to end it or let him fight, and if he will fight, it will not be beautiful,” Trump said. “Because without us it does not win.”
National Security Advisor Mike Wals, who was in the Oval Office during the meeting, said Breitbart News on Saturday that Zelensky was too focused on checking facts and compared the Ukrainian leader with a “former girl”.
“It’s like a former girl who wants to argue everything you said nine years ago rather than moving the relationship forward,” Waltz said.
While the Democrats stated that they were horrified by the US ally, most Republicans in Washington supported Trump.
“What I saw in the oval office was disrespectful, and I do not know if we can do a business with Zelensky again,” said Senator Graham, a longtime supporter of Ukraine’s assistance and foreign policy when he left the White House on Friday.
“For me, the question:” Is it possible to buy in the eyes of Americans? “Most Americans who testify what they saw today did not want Zelensky to be their business partner, including me, and I have been in Ukraine nine times since the war was started.”
Senator Alabama Tommy Tuberville outlined on X on Saturday: “The best thing President Trump did is still that Ukrainian grace with the WH.”
Senator Tennessee Bill Hagerti published on X: “The United States will no longer be taken for granted.”
But other Republican Congress members were not so excited.
Senator Alaska Lisa Murkovsky, a moderate Republican, who is something political thorns in Trump, located on X on Saturday: “I am sick with the stomach when the administration seems to leave our allies and perceives Putin.”
Republican representative Mike Lawler from New York called the meeting “a missed opportunity for both the US and for Ukraine.”
Nebraska’s state employee Don Bacon said it was “a bad day for America’s foreign policy.”
“Ukraine wants independence, free markets and the rule of law. It wants to become part of the West. Russia hates us, and our Western values. We must be clear that we are in favor of freedom,” he said in a statement.
No Republican directly criticized Trump and Vens, who quarreled Zelensky for the first time during the meeting.
The Democrats, meanwhile, took over the White House.
“Trump and Vnes are doing the dirty work of Putin,” said the Senate Minor Chak Sumer minority leader.
Senator Chris Kuns said Zelensky deserved better.
“We are obliged to thank him for the leading nation that fought on the advanced democracy is not the public he received in the White House,” he said on X.
