A New -Jersey Last year, a woman who drowned the little ones to eliminate “all evil in the world” – with reference to “religious reasons” – was found guilty because of madness.
The 27 -year -old Naomi Elkins was accused of killing daughters at the age of 1 and 3, after she drowned them in her home in Leaked, New Jersey, June 25.
Last week, the Supreme Court Judge Guy Ryan ruled that Elkins killed his children but was not guilty of madness, Ashbury Park Press reports. The judge ordered Elkins to be committed to a safe psychiatric hospital for two lives – one for each child she killed.
This means that she was sentenced to only 150 years in a psychiatric hospital, since each life term is equated to 75 years of state legislation.

Elkins had recognized in police that she drowned each of her children in certain baths for “religious reasons”.
For the first time, she stabbed the younger child in her stomach, but was not convinced that she would kill her, so she put the baby in the bath and spent two or two minutes under the water, saying that she had been considered several times to make a “enough time,” the criminal complaint said.
The second daughter noticed what had happened and ran away to hide, the judge said. But Elkins grabbed her and put her in the bath in the second bathroom, rose to her and pressed her while the bath was filled.
Then Elkins called the first respondents to report that she had hurt his daughters. Both children were announced dead at the scene.
Psychologist Gianni Pirellus specified in courthouse that Elkins was “undoubtedly psychotic” and that the woman believed that either she was a messiah, reports “Ashbury -Park”. After the incident, Pirellus said that Elkins was described as “without emotions” and that her statements included similar “religious topics”.
“She thought that when she was destroying her children, she would destroy all evil in the world,” Pirelli said.

Elkins’s husband left the city on a business trip the day before the murder.
Pireli said that Elkins struggled with mental illness at least since 2018 and suffered postpartum psychosis after the birth of her two children. Psyregrals said the woman’s mental health has never stabilized.
After her second pregnancy, Elkins began to believe that she was “either a descendant of Hitler or evil formations, this idea about her evil, or the idea that she needs to repent,” Pireli said.
After her recognition, Elkins was allowed to write a letter that “reads as if it were a letter to God,” Pirelli said.
“I thought I loved you, God, my creator,” Elkins wrote in a letter.
“You’re evil. I deserve death and destruction. I don’t know what I loved my children but I loved you more,” the letter goes.

The letter is added: “I put me in front of my children. How could a Jewish mother do it? How is it possible?”
The Ocean Bradley District Prosecutor stated that his office could not dispute the determination that Elkins was legally crazy when she killed her children.
“On the basis of our review of facts and circumstances, combined with an expert psychiatric report and testimony, the state agrees with this conclusion,” Bilchimer said. “It’s not even a close call.”
Elkins’s mental health will be periodically evaluated by the court, and it will remain in a psychiatric institution if it does not reach such a point if it is no longer considered a danger to itself or others, Mitchell Ansel Prophet said.
