Liam Cameron (23-7-1, 10 kos) took the high road by not choosing to complain about the quick loss of TKO in the second round against heavy weighty Whittaker (9-0-1, 6 ko) in his comeback to the World Arena Resorts in Birmingham, England.
Cameron, 34, showed his class by criticizing the referee Howard Foster to stop prematurely the struggle in the second round after Whittaker had rushed it. Ben disembarked nothing for the arrest, although Foster chose to divert him.
Social media fans toasted the referee, saying that it was a British classic stop. Cameron wasn’t bitter at the end. Mentioned after the fight he wouldwon a fortune ” On resale tonight with money changing life.
Morrell comparison
The 2020 Olympic silver medalist, whittaker, 27, is too old to fight at this level, and it is clear that he will not go out in the professional ranks. Is the same age as the world champion of two divisions David MorrellBut it is still in training wheels. Morrell did not fight at the Olympic Games, but developed more skills than in Cuban national selection. It has been taken faster.
The Whittaker promoter needs to find out what to do with him, as he seems to require a similar protection to that of Hamzah Sheeraz. He lacks that spark that he would indicate that he is able to fight world class opposition.
“He was baptized by a better man. He was a silver Olympic medalist. I gave a difficult time to Saudi. I thought he could do it again -he went and got a professional team and he returned stronger. Well done to him,” said Liam Cameron to Boxing King MediaSpeaking of his loss to Ben Whittaker tonight.
Cameron could rethink Whittaker’s praise after a look at reproduction to see that he was never given the opportunity because of the first stop. This struggle should have been allowed instead of being stopped by the referee, Foster.
“It’s tall and sharp,” Cameron said when he asked if he was waiting for him to go out quickly tonight. “Being the popular boy does not win fights, but I will take it to the grave with me forever. It’s boxing. In one, two, three fights, they (fans) could love it (Whittaker) after a little. It will be a switch as they did with me.”
The only way the fans will begin to please Whittaker is whether their fights stopped in controversy and if it surpasses the first -rate boys to 175 instead of Caerer’s 168 lb fighters. If you want fans like it, they have to fight David Morrell or David Benavidez and show that he can overcome them. I would not give Whittaker an opportunity against any of these boys, but if at least he tried, you could respect it.
“It only happened like this. The fight happened like that,” Cameron said about his loss. “Look where I am. I do not like to say, but I have made an absolute fortune. It’s not for me. It’s for my kids. That’s all for me. I never thought I would win what I gained tonight.
“I put everything in it. I had strength and conditioning. We did everything perfect. You could say that he wanted people to like it,” Cameron said about Whittaker. “You have to discover it and recover them.”
