Israel has ordered to disable all gas electricity supplies on Sunday, trying to put pressure on Hamas to release other Israeli hostages held in the territory.
The announcement of Eli Cohen Minister Eli Coen took place a week after Israel disabled all the supplies of assistance to an area of more than two million people.
In the video on Sunday, Cohen said: “We will use all the instruments at our disposal to return the hostages and make sure that Hamas is no longer in Gaza the next day (war).”
It is expected that the decision to reduce electricity will affect the work of the dealing plants, which are crucial to ensure pure drinking water.
The government said it did not rule out the water supply.
In his statement, Cohen said: “I just signed an order to stop electricity in the gas lane immediately.”
Israel has disconnected most of the electricity in gas before the war.
Talks to the extended the fragile ceasefireIt is expected that the first stage of which ended on March 1, will take place in Qatar on Monday.
Israel wants Hamas to make the expansion of the first phase of their ceasefire.
But Hamas wants to start negotiations at the second stage of ceasefire, which would see the release of other hostages from Gaza, withdrawing Israeli troops and a constant end of the war.
Hamas is believed to have 24 live hostages as well as the bodies of 35 people.
A group of militants – which warned that the shutdown of gas supplies will also affect hostages – said it said on Sunday that she had completed the last round of negotiations to cease fire with the Egyptian mediator unchanged in her position and urged to start a second phase of AFL immediately.
The coastal area of gases and its infrastructure were largely devastated by war, and for some power supply generators and solar panels are used.
Israel has faced criticism about cutting off gas supplies.
“Any refusal to join the need for life for civilians can make a collective punishment,” the UN said on Friday.
Hamas repeated support for the proposal to create an independent committee of technocrats to manage Gaza until the Palestinians sound in the presidential and legislative elections.
This committee will work under the Palestinian administration (PA), located on the occupied West Bank.
Israel rejected PA, who held some role in the gas, but did not act with an alternative for post -war rule.
In October 2023, Hamas’s attack killed about 1,200 people, mostly civilians, in Israel and saw 251 hostage. Most were issued in the ceasefire agreements or in other agreements.
Israel’s military offensive killed more than 48,000 Palestinians in Gaza, mostly women and children, according to the Ministry of Health Hamas, which does not say how many dead were militants.
