Children’s actress Millena Brandão died after suffering 13 heart attacks. She was 11 years old.
“An open letter to my little girl 🖤on May 2nd we lost our little girl, but I’m sure she is in the arms of our Almighty father and in a beautiful place to play,” parents, Milena’s mother, mother Thays Brandão and father Luiz Brandãowrote in Portuguese through Instagram statement Divided on Sunday, May 4. “The memories we spent together will remain in my memory and I will never forget your joy that was contagious to everyone around you.”
The message continued: “My daughter, I already miss you more and more without having you here and I know that I will miss you even more in the days to come! You were the light in our lives and I know that you will be there up there to watch over us and light our lives 🩷.”
The parents concluded that they will love their daughter “forever” and will remain in their hearts.

“She got worse, with two to three cardiac arrests a day. She had 13 arrests in total,” Thays told the Portuguese outlet on Monday, May 5.

According to Millena’s mother, the young actress came in to be implanted and did not regain awareness. Eventually, the parents decided to take their daughter off life aid.
“I said that if we let her little heart stop beating on her own, we would suffer more, and so too,” said Thays. “And we asked the machines to be turned off.”
The official cause of death has not yet been released.
