But, according to NFL Network, Haslam rejected the request to meet the Garret. Then Haslam showed the Garrett towards BRANS CEO Andrew Barry, Per Cleveland.com.

In a statement announced by his trading request, Garrett stated that he preferred to land with the contender next season. “The goal was never to move from Cleveland to the Canton, it has always been fought and win the Super Bowl,” he said.
Garrett doubled in these sentiments and concluded that they were not “aligned” with the franchise direction.

“I have a lot of love for Cleveland, but it’s always for me (competing) for the championships, winning these big games and won Lombardis,” said the NFL Network Garret in February. “We didn’t have the opportunity to do it. That’s all I ask for.”
“This is not the decision I make easily,” Garret said. “It took time and a lot of conversations, but just looking at the team trajectory, talking to some of the higher levels … I respect them very much, but I just don’t think we are aligned in where the team goes soon.”
