The New England Patriots are in hiring talks Mike Vrabel as the team’s next head coach, according to The Boston Globe.
Vrabel is the favorite to take over after former head coach Jarrod Mayo was fired Sunday after just one season.
Sparrow is a member patriots Hall of Famer for his eight seasons with the team. He won three Super Bowls with Tom Brady and Bill Belichick during his career in New England from 2001-2008.

Vrabel was 54-45 in six seasons as the Tennessee Titans’ head coach from 2018 to 2023, including three trips to the playoffs and one to the AFC title game.
After the 2023 season, Vrabel was fired by the Titans and then spent 2024 as a coach and personnel consultant with the Cleveland Browns.

Vrabel is believed to be a leading candidate for the 2025 head coaching position. He also interviewed with the Jets and Bears.
The Patriots also interviewed Ben Johnson, Byron Leftwich and Pep Hamilton for the head coaching opening.
Vrabel was born in Ohio and was an All-American during his remarkable playing career Ohio State Sides in the mid-1990s.

Vrabel finished his pro career with 769 tackles, 57 sacks and 11 interceptions. He earned All-Pro honors for his outstanding 2007 season with the New England Patriots.
The Patriots are 8-26 the last two seasons with Bill Belichick and then Mayo as their head coach.
