Mexico is looking for compensation from us with YouTuber MrBeast and a manufacturing company, accusing them of using the country’s ancient pyramids for commercial benefit.
In the video “I studied 2000 -year -old temples”, shows the influence of his team, which study the cities of ancient Mayan, with the permission of local authorities.
But in one part of the video that received more than 60 million views a week, MRBEAST advertises its chocolate product as “Mayan dessert” and calls for the audience to buy it.
Authorities said while they gave YouTuber permission to shoot on the sites, they did not allow the profit. A MrBeest spokesman denied some charges.
YouTuber’s press -secretary told the BBC: “No advertising materials were removed from any of the archaeological sites that overseen Inna (National Institute of Anthropology and History).”
The video that promotes the chocolate snack is shot at the camping site.
The press -secretary also said that this video “intended to emphasize these coveted Mayan sites” and that “it is a pity it turned into a political problem – I hope it can lead to a productive dialogue and calls people to visit these unique historical treasures.”
Mexico President Claudia Sheinbaum on Wednesday called on an investigation into the conditions under which he was granted.
In the video signature, MrBeast is the real name of which Jimmy Donaldson – thanks to Mexican tourism and government authorities for resolution on the sites, and connecting links to your chocolate product.
The video also shows his team that study the area with limited access in the cities of Mayan Kalakmul and Chichen. At one point, he says, “I can’t believe the government will do it.”
They are also shown that they seem to descend the pyramid from the helicopter, and another scene shows the return of the pre -span mask.
But the inheritance authorities said it was “false statements” and accused Uhutube of misinformation. Ina said that MrBeast never had a real pre-span mask, and it seemed that there was a broad editing post-production in the video, on the helicopter stage.
“All these are false statements that submit the theatricality of YouTuber,” the statement said on Monday.
Mexico Cultural Secretary Claudia Currenize de Isaka said on Thursday that although they allowed permission to MrBeast on the film, they never allowed the publication of false information or the use of the website’s website images.
“We do not approve of any commercial desire that distorts the value of archaeological sites that are the heritage of our indigenous cultures and the pride of our nation,” she said.
She added that, despite the fact that Mexico was open to the content that promotes the “knowledge and dissemination of Mexico’s archaeological and cultural heritage”, it was firmly against those who “take advantage of the institutions.”
She said Ina would consider “administrative sanctions” against the production company Full Circle Media, which was issued a film permit. BBC addressed the comments from the firm.
MrBeast, called “King YouTube”, is the most signed person on a platform with 395 million followers. His Mayan Pyramid video was posted on May 10.
