Meta Founder Mark Zuckerberg said the social media giant will spend hundreds of billion dollars on the construction of huge AI data centers in the US.
It is expected that the first multilateral data center called Prometheus will appear on the Internet in 2026, Zuckerberg said.
He said one of the sites would cover the area almost size from Manhattan (59.1 km/22.8 sq.m).
Meta has invested great funds in the effort to develop what is called a “warden” – the technology, which, she said, could change the most intelligent people.
The company, which earned most of its money from the Internet advertising, has received more than $ 160 billion in profit in 2024.
In a message on his platform on social media, Zuckerberg said Meta creates several years of clusters, and that one cluster called Hyperion can scale up to five gigawat for several years.
“We are also building a few more titanium clusters. Just one of them covers a large part of Manhattan’s traces,” he added.
Prometheus will be built in New Oolbani, Ohio, while Hyperion will be built in Louisiana and is expected to be completely on the Internet by 2030, Zuckerberg said.
He said that the meta “deposit hundreds of billion dollars … to build a warden” and that the center received “names that correspond to their scale and impact”.
Carl Freind, Chief Analyst Cambrian Ai Research, said the BBC: “Clear that Zuckerberg intends to spend his way to the top of the pile of II.”
“The talent he hires will have access to some of the best AI equipment in the world,” Freind added.

There are at least 10,000 data centers worldwide that place cloud – remote servers that store digital information – with most of them located in the US, after which the UK and Germany.
