Arab mediators are waiting for Israel’s official response after Hamas said he had accepted a new proposal to stop the fire and the hostage transaction.
The plan was presented by Qatar and Egypt, trying to avoid a major new Israeli offensive to fully occupy gas.
Qatar said it was an “almost identical” proposal of the United States about a 60 -day truce, during which about half of 50 hostages conducted in Gaza – 20 of which are believed to be transferred, and both sides will agree on a strong ceasefire and returning.
In recent days, the Israeli government said he would no longer accept a partial deal – only an exhaustive one that would see all the liberated hostages.
Local media quoted a high -ranking Israeli official: “The Israeli position has not changed – the release of all hostages and the fulfillment of other conditions defined for the end of the war.”
Later this week, the Israeli office is expected to approve the military plan to occupy a gas city, where thousands of people have already pushed the Israeli strike.
Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu announced the intention of Israel to conquer all gas – including in areas where most 2.1 million Palestinian residents are looking for asylum – after the ceasefire broke out last month.
On Monday night, the Hamas statement announced that the armed group and other Palestinian factions approved the ceasefire presented by Egypt’s mediators and Qatar to their delegations in Cairo the day before.
Official Hamas Taher al-Nun said al-Arab TV that they did not seek any amendments to the proposal, which he called “a partial transaction leading to a comprehensive transaction.”
He also emphasized that on the first day of his introduction, negotiations began with the purpose of coordination of permanent ceasefire.
“We hope that 60 days of ceasefire will be sufficient to conclude a final agreement that will fully end this war,” he said.
A spokesman for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Qatar, Majad al-Ansara, told reporters on Tuesday that the proposal was “98%” similar to the one presented by the Middle East Steve Witkof.
“I will not enter the details of the language now on the table. But I can say that it is very close, almost identical because it was on the table,” Ansari said.
“This is within the Witco plan … This is a continuation of this process. Obviously, it is in detail where the devil lies.”
Witkoff suggested a 60-day truce, which saw that Hamas released 10 living hostages and organs from 18 dead hostages in two stages, in exchange for hundreds of Palestinian prisoners and detainees held in Israeli prisons. He also stated that negotiations on the final ending agreement will start on the first day of the transaction.
Israel accepted the Vitcoof plan, but Hamas rejected it, partly because he did not include the guarantee that the temporary ceasefire would lead to permanent.
Israeli media reports that Israeli officials have studied a new proposal and Hamas’s reaction.
According to Kani’s public television company, Netanyahu did not rule out the possibility of a partial transaction, despite his recent statements that he will only accept an exhaustive deal.
On Saturday night, his office outlined a statement saying that Israel “will agree to the transaction, provided that all hostages would be released at a time and in accordance with our conditions to stop the war.”
These conditions included the disarm of Hamas, the demilitarization of gas, Israeli control over the perimeter of the gas, and the installation of controls that are not Palestinian authorities, added.
In the video on Monday, Netanyahu said he was discussing with senior Israeli military commanders “plans for Gaza and the completion of our missions”.
“Like you, I hear reports in the media, and you can get one impression – Hamas is under high pressure,” he added.
Meanwhile, US President Donald Trump wrote on social media: “We will only see the return of the rest of the hostages when Hamas face and destroy !!! The faster it happens, the better there will be a chance of success.”
However, the hostage families fear a new offensive in Gaza, which can threaten those who are held there.
On Sunday night, hundreds of thousands of Israel gathered in Tel -Vavve to demand that their government agree with Hamas to end the war now and bring all the hostages home. Netanyahu accused the demonstrators of solidifying Hamas’s negotiation position.
Israeli military launched a campaign in Gaza in response to the attack under the guidance of Hamas on South Israel on October 7, 2023, which killed about 1,200 people and took 251 people.
At least 62,004 people have been killed in Gaza since then, according to the Ministry of Health in the field of health in the territory.
Most of the gas population has also been moved several times; It is estimated that more than 90% of the houses were damaged or destroyed; Health care systems, water, sanitation and hygiene have fallen apart; And world food security experts are not supported that “the worst hunger scenario is played out” due to lack of food.
