MCEBISI JONAS “Avoid” and Scott Babe Pass the G20 meeting

The Trump administration refers to South Africa almost like a bar, in the black list, refusing to send top -level officials at the meeting, and threatens the nation with such high tariffs that its economic crisis can deepen.

The last sign of this happened with the opening of the second largest party in the coalition government of South Africa, the Democratic Alliance (DA) that the US government rejected the special envoy of President Cyril Ramaphos, denying him a diplomatic visa in May and Refusing to recognize him as a “official interlocutor”.

Ramaphos created a post for MCEBISI Jonas, the executive chairman of the MTN mobile phones and the respected former Deputy Minister of Finance to improve rock-off relations with the United States.

Ramaphos’s press secretary accused DA of “misinformation”, but clearly did not refuse the party’s demands. The US State Department refused to comment on the BBC, citing “Visa Record Conviditarity”.

Jonas’ appointment came after President Donald Trump disabled South Africa’s assistance, accused the Ramaphos government of persecution of white people, condemned her for strangling the genocide against Israel in an international court (CU), as well as for “reinventing” relations with Iran.

Claus Singh, South Africa’s foreign policy expert at the Pretoria Institute for Security Studies Analytical Centers, said the BBC that if the statements of DA about Jonas were true, it would fit the Trump administration strategy to give South Africa “Cold shoulder and cut off communication channels that it is so desperate.”

The US not only reduced bilateral relations with South Africa, but also boycotted it in global bodies, such as the G20, which currently elaborates in Ramaphos, hoping to promote the interests of countries developing in negotiations with the richest states in the world.

The last sign of this was the decision of the US Finance Ministry Scott Baze to miss a G20 Finance Ministers meeting in South Africa, preferring to send a low rating official instead.

The infant missed a similar meeting in February, while Secretary of State Mark Rubio stayed away from the meeting of the G20 Foreign Ministers, saying that the Ramafosi government was engaged in “very bad things” and he could not “frame anti -Americanism.”

Ramaphos hoped to return relations with the United States on a flat keel after Trump invited him to the Oval Service in May – only for the US president to put him, showing footage and breaking the sheaf of false messages to promote his wide discredited statement that the genocide was passing against white people in South Africa.

Jonas was surprisingly absent in the strong delegation of Ramaphos, which gave confidence in the statement of DA that he was undesirable in Washington.

Instead, Ramaphos expressed his hopes for a special messenger, which, he said, during Jonas’ appointment, “negotiates, promotes strategic partnerships and engaged in state officials and heads of the private sector to promote the interests of our country.”

But it is unclear how Ramaphos expects that Jonas had reached this, given that he, like Rasol, expressed conflicting remarks about Trump, calling him “racist” and “narcissist right -wing” in the 2020 speech, which returned to persecute it after his appointment.

This has deteriorated that MTN had 49% of the Ironcell telecommunications company, the main problem for the US.

Compared to its previous positions, South Africa was “more prudent” – as Mr -n Singh said – in his response to Iran’s air strikes in June, just saying that he considered the conflict with “great anxiety” and hoped he could be resolved through dialogue.

W Gyude Moore, Analyst Politics at the US Center for Global Development, said the BBC that it is no wonder that South Africa is in Trump’s shooting.

He noted that South Africa advocates that Trump’s support as a “woken culture” was supported. For example, Ramaphos viewed the G20 as a forum through which the international “solidarity, equality and stability”, which Rubio opposed, equate it to “diversity, justice and inclusion”, as well as climate change.

Mr Moore said it was also put into the attitude of the Trump administration to the Black Enlargement policy, accusing it of “delay” against white people. The Ramaphos government views this as necessary to solve the legacy of the racist system of apartheid.

“I do not see how the differences can be resolved. South Africa will simply have to continue and strengthen ties with other countries. This is not the only one in the intersection of Trump administration,” Moore added.

But this is the main blow to South Africa because it maintained strong relations with trade and assistance with consistent republican and democratic administrations, despite sharp differences with them.

The head of the Central Bank of South Africa, Leseta Khanna, said the tariffs could lead to about 100,000 losses – it is worried about the country where the unemployment rate is at a stunning 32.9%.

The tariffs were heavily in the South African agriculture sector. This is ironic because Trump presented himself as an African farmers champion offering them refugee status in the United States.

It also gives them the opportunity to engage in economy and increase their economy in accordance with the “America’s first” policy.
