Mayend stunts sky blues with late winner

Eliezer Mayenda marked a late winner, as Sunderland ended with a miserable training of forming in Coventry in the first part of the championship playoffs tonight.

Regis Le Bris’s side had lost his last five games in the contest, but his pitch plan thoroughly and catching the hosts on the counter worked perfectly, as the Wearsiders claimed a 2-1 lead to return to the light stadium on Tuesday night.

Wilson Isidor put Sunderland in front of 68 minutes just for Jack Rudoni to go to Coventry level just over a minute later.

But a terrible mistake of Coventry’s right, Milan Van Ewijk, with two minutes to do so, allowed Mayend to make it clear and was admirable for shooting Ben Wilson and moving to the empty net.

Coventry had almost 75 percent of possession, but lacked that he advanced, relentlessly throwing crosses and free throws in the Sunderland box, which were repeatedly led by the prominent Dan Ballard.

The Sky Blues captured the first half with Sunderland offering little more than the strange pause of Mayenda.

But Anthony Patterson on the outside goal was rarely threatened.

The accused Isidor Finish Put Sunderland in front

Sunderland was in charge of the second half with a brand attack. Captain Dan Neil moved the ball away from his own penalty area before slipping a pass at the Enzo Le tariff. The Loan Rome midfielder played a delicious ball in Isidor and cut, touched a touch and passed in front of Wilson.

Fora celebrations were wild, but short -lived, while Coventry was almost immediately leveled.

Van Ewijk escaped to the right and his cross was perfect for Rudoni to run and nodly nod ahead of Patterson.

Patrick Roberts shot a shot before Sunderland took the second after Van Ewijk’s passage did not look good from Wilson and Mayenda did not make a mistake.
