Max McNown shines light on the special meaning behind her brand new single, “Call me if you lose me. “
“He was not necessarily inspired directly by Heartbreak recently,” McNown, 23, was shared only Weekly US Before premiering the song on Friday, March 7. “I liked to layer a poem being written about how people turn to poems to go through emotional distress sometimes. That’s where the song was born. “
In the emotional chorus, McNown sings towards the end of a relationship with the various emotions that one goes through while trying to improve.
“Goodbye turns to poetry / heartbreak turning to whiskey,” he sings. “And if you turn to just / call me if you lose me.”

Before fans allocate all words and question who might be involved, McNown explained Us That the song is more “generally for my experiences.”
“I had my heart broken many times growing up and only all my life,” he shared. “And luckily, I’m with a wonderful girl now, and she’s been constantly keeping me through this whole career and growth, and it’s been amazing.”
When inspiration struck and the song was written on a spontaneous journey from Oregon to West Yellowstone, McNown added that he was not with his current girlfriend – meaning “the only things I had to go away from were failed relationships.”

His album Sophomore, Night divereceived positive reviews and resulted in a tour sold out, and has won more than 1.6 million followers through Instagram. Some have even called the next Zach Bryan – Praise he values but takes with a particle of salt.
“I think Zach Bryan is one of the greatest songwriters of my whole age,” he said. “I don’t think my music is similar to it, and it’s not because I don’t like its music, but that’s because I don’t want to be the next Zach Bryan.”

“It’s easy to lose yourself in the world, and Thomas Rhett hasn’t done so,” said McNown. “I’ve always looked up to that.”

As his career continues – just performed at his first festival on Saturday, March 1, on extra pubs at Tempe, Arizona – McNown said he buckled in and ready to enjoy the ride.
“I have so much passion for what I do with music and singing and writing,” he said. “I’m going to do that. … It is very interesting to see lives that music can take outside what you expected. “
