Matthew Perry’s death investigation: Complete Timeline

Two months left Matthew Perry He died at the age of 54 in October 2023, his death ruled an accident. That ruling proved to be far from the end of the story.

A toxicology report in December 2023 concluded that Perry died of “acute effects of ketamine.” The report noted that Perry had been receiving regular ketamine spills to treat depression and anxiety, but his last infusion occurred more than a week before his death. In May 2024, the Los Angeles Police Department confirmed they had open an investigation into the death of Perry. Three months later, five individuals – Salvador Plasencia. Jasveen sangha. Kenneth Waysay. Erik Fleming and Mark Chavez – are struck with various federal charges, including conspiracy to distribute ketamine causing death.

September 30, 2023

According to court documents obtained by Weekly US In August 2024, “after learning” that Perry was “interested in getting ketamine,” Plasencia is alleged to have contacted Chavez about buying the drug “so that he could sell the ketamin” to the actor. The Docs also claimed that Plasencia had texted Chavez, “I wonder how much this carrot will pay” for the substance.

After Chavez sold Plasencia, a licensed doctor, “at least four vase of liquid ketamine, ketamine lozenges,” sprays and gloves, the docs claimed that Plasencia left the drug with a former Perry Personal Auxiliary, Iwamasa, and learned it so that he could administer ketamine.

October 2, 2023

Iwamasa sent a text message to Plasencia asking for the purchase of extra vials from ketamin.

The same day, Plasencia Chavez texted asking for more ketamine to sell to Perry.

October 8-10, 2023

Pansencia sold several vials from ketamine to Iwamasa, and met him and Perry in several locations, including Long Beach, California, where Pasencia is alleged to have injected Perry with the substance while they were in a car.

The Docs also noted that, on October 10, Iwamasa contacted Fleming to buy more vials of ketamine. Then Texted Fleming Sangha, Aka “The Ketamine Queen,” to get the drugs.

October 14, 2023

After delivering samples from ketamin to Iwamasa and Perry at his residence the previous day, Fleming allegedly drove to Perry’s home to get the money for the drugs. Then fleming drove to Sangha’s “Stash House” and bought 25 vase. Then he drove back to Perry’s house and sent the drugs, according to the docs.

October 23, 2023

Iwamasa Texted Fleming asking to buy more ketamin, which he allegedly asked by text, “Can we do the same as last time over the next two days?”

Fleming then traveled to Perry’s home to raise cash from Iwamasa.

October 24, 2023

Fleming allegedly bought another 25 vase of ketamine from Sangha, then drove back to Perry’s home to drop the drugs.

October 25-27

Court Docs claimed that Iwamasa had administered Perry “at least” six injections of ketamine on October 25, October 26 and October 27.

October 28, 2023

Perry was found unresponsive in a hot tub at his home in Los Angeles. He was announced to be dead later that day.

In documents obtained by UsIt was alleged that Iwamasa injected Perry with “multiple doses of ketamine he received” by Fleming and Sangha, “leading to death and serious bodily injury” of the late actor. The Docs also claimed that Plasencia was providing the sprays.

The same day, Sangha directed Fleming to “distance from the sale of ketamin” to Perry, including eliminating digital evidence on their mobile phones.

October 30, 2023

Fleming allegedly sent a text to Sangha asking how long ketamine remains in someone’s system since “three -month tox screening” would be performed on Perry.

December 2023

The Office of Medical Auditor Los Angeles released a toxicology report which concluded that Perry had died of “acute effects of ketamine.” The actor’s death was awarded an accident, with drowning, coronary artery disease and the effects of buprenorphine (used to treat opioid use) listed as contributing factors.

May 2024

The Los Angeles Police Department confirmed that they had opened an investigation into Perry’s death, focusing specifically on how Perry got the ketamine found in his system when he died.

Aug 15, 2024

The US Attorney’s Office divided California Central Area and Press release announce that Salvador Plasencialicensed doctor, and Jasveen sanghaAka “The Ketamine Queen,” an alleged drug dealer was arrested, on August 15 in connection with Perry’s death. Plasencia and Sangha were charged with one account of conspiracy to distribute ketamine.

Sangha was also accused of one account of maintaining a drug -related building, one account of possession with intent to distribute methamphetamine, one account of possession with intent to distribute ketamine and five counts of ketamine distribution; While Plasencia is also charged with seven counts of ketamine distribution and two accounts of changing and faking documents or records associated with the federal investigation.

The press release also named three other people accused separately in connection with the death of Perry: Iwamasa, his acquaintance Fleming, and Dr. Chavez, another doctor.

Fleming pleaded guilty on August 8 to one account of conspiracy to distribute ketamine and one count of ketamine distribution leading to death. According to the US attorney’s office for the California central area, Fleming admitted in court documents that he had distributed the ketamine that killed Perry.

Iwamasa pleaded guilty on August 7 to one account of conspiracy to distribute ketamine causing death, and admitted injecting Perry repeatedly with a ketamine without medical training, including on the day he died. Chavez has agreed to plead guilty to one account of conspiracy to distribute ketamine.

August 30, 2024

Chavez, one of the doctors arrested in connection with Perry’s death, appeared in a court in Los Angeles on Friday, August 30, after arriving in a guilty pleading deal and cooperating with prosecutors, according to the Press. (Although he agreed to plead guilty, he did not enter his plea during his court appearance, and will do so on a date to decide later.)

“He is extremely repentant,” Chavez’s lawyer, Matthew Binninger He said while the doctor, who agreed to turn his medical license, stood by his side. “He tries to do everything he can to correct the wrong that happened here. Plasencia made a plea deal with the Department of Justice, and faces a highest sentence of 40 years in prison, Close Reporting.

Salvador Plasencia, all accusing a defendant to distribute ketamin,” the US central class agreement is staring.
